Summary

Description
English: In heraldry, broken (or fracted, rompu, or disjointed) chevrons can be represented artistically and described in blazon in a variety of ways (compare other images in this set).

John Woodward and George Burnett's 1892 Treatise on Heraldry has an example of a shield with chevron(s) broken like this, blazoned a "chevron rompu", borne by Beaumont.
