Summary

Description
English: In heraldry, broken (or fracted, rompu, or disjointed) chevrons can be represented artistically and described in blazon in a variety of ways (compare other images in this set).

The 1850 Freemasons' Quarterly Magazine, volume 1, has an illustration of a chevron broken like this labelled "fracted or removed of one joint".
