Summary

Description
English: A 'chief triangular' is formed by lines from the upper corners of the shield down to a point (as high up as the line of a rectangular chief would be, hence not extending down as far as the triangle of a shield party per chevron reversed). This charge is termed a chef triangulaire in French, and is found in English as early as 1460 as a chefe entte pycche in the arms of Thorpe (per Mistholme).
