Tocharian A[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Possibly from Proto-Indo-European *h₂eng- (corner, bend), making it cognate with Ancient Greek ἄγκυρα (ánkura, anchor). Compare Tocharian B āṅkär, of the same meaning.
