     Tín đồ đạo Công giáo xưng tội trong toà kín với linh mục là hình thức chủ yếu nhất, còn tín đồ đạo Tin lành xưng tội trực tiếp với Thiên Chúa. Đạo Công giáo đặt ra nhiều bài kinh để cho mọi người cầu nguyện hàng ngày (quen gọi là Kinh nguyện). Đạo Tin lành chỉ tin có Kinh thánh, dùng Kinh thánh trong tất cả các sinh hoạt tôn giáo.
