An onomatopoeic word, like Sanskrit तित्तिर (tittira, partridge), टिट्टिभ (ṭiṭṭibha, water-hen), Lithuanian titìlvis (sanderling), τῐτῐ́ζω (titízō, to chip) and τῑτῐ́ς (tītís, small chirping bird).
