Inherited from Kipchak [Term?], from Proto-Turkic *bǟrig (gerund of *bǟr-). Cognate with Nogai беруьв (berüv), Bashkir биреү (birew), Tatar бирү (birü), Kumyk берив (beriw); Kyrgyz берүү (berüü); Yakut биэрии (bierii); Turkish ver-, etc.
