From Middle Mongol بوساقه (bosaga, doorsill), compare Mongolian босго (bosgo, threshold).

Cognate with Kazakh босаға (bosağa), Karachay-Balkar босагъа (bosağa), Kyrgyz босого (bosogo), Uzbek bo'sag'a, Uyghur بوسۇغا (bosugha), Yakut модьоҕо (mojoğo, threshold), etc.
