Etymology[edit]

From лед- (led-) +‎ -о- (-o-) +‎ -ём (-jóm), combining form of имать (imatʹ, to take, originally to have) (compare 1sg. present е́млю (jémlju)). Formed by analogy with водоём (vodojóm).
