From Proto-Turkic *teke (billy goat).

Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (teke, billy goat); Kazakh теке (teke), Tatar тәкә (täkä), Kyrgyz теке (teke), Kumyk теке (teke), Uzbek taka, Uyghur تېكە (tëke), Turkish teke, Tuvan те (te, billy goat).
