Etymology[edit]

Cognate with Tatar өмә (ömä, collective help), Kazakh үме (üme, collective help), Turkmen üme (an occasion when a group of women do sewing together to help one of hem), apparently also Khakas ӧме (jointly, collectively, adverb), Northern Altai ӧмӧ (ömö, advice).
