Ottoman Turkish[edit]

Letter[edit]

նկ (ng)

  1. A digraph used in the Armeno-Turkish script. Represents velar nasal: [ŋ]. Transliterated as ñ.

Usage notes[edit]

Primarily used before a front vowel; i.e., before one of է (e), ի (i), էօ (ö), իւ (ü). In many cases it had probably already merged in pronunciation with ն (n).
