The origin is uncertain.

փսխեմ (pʻsxem)  (aorist indicative փսխեցի)

  1. to vomit, to throw up, to puke, to spew
  2. (mediopassive, intransitive) to gush out (of entrails, under a big weight)
  3. (mediopassive, intransitive) to go to pieces (of waves beating on rocks)
