Feminine of גָּדֵר (gāḏēr, “enclosing wall”), from גָּדַר (gāḏar, “to wall up or off”). See גֶּדֶר (geḏer), גְּדוֹר (gəḏōr). Compare Phoenician 𐤂𐤃𐤓 (gdr /gādēr, gādīr/), Arabic جَدِيرَة (jadīra).
