Feminine of גָּדֵר (gāḏēr, enclosing wall), from גָּדַר (gāḏar, to wall up or off). See גֶּדֶר (geḏer), גְּדוֹר (gəḏōr). Compare Phoenician 𐤂𐤃𐤓 (gdr /⁠gādēr, gādīr⁠/), Arabic جَدِيرَة (jadīra).
