1. To open, be opened: to be made open.

   הדלת נפתחת פנימה. ― hadélet niftékhet p'níma. ― The door opens inward.

   החנות תיפתח בשעה 13:00. ― hakhanút tipatákh b'sha'á 13:00. ― The store will open at 13:00.

   נפתחה חקירה משטרתית. ― nift'khá khakirá mishtar'tít. ― A police investigation has been opened.

2. (נִפְתָּח, niftákh) Masculine singular present participle and present tense of נִפְתַּח (niftákh).
