עָשָׂה אֶת שֶׁלּוֹ (asá ét sheló) third-singular masculine past (pa'al construction)

  1. (idiomatic) To do one's part: to fulfill one's duty or responsibility.
    עשיתי את שלי.asíti ét shelí.I did my part.
    היא עושה את שלה.hí osá ét sheláh.She's doing her part.

Usage notes[edit]

  • Note that the verb עשה (asá) and the preposition של (shél) in this idiom must both be inflected to agree with the subject.
