Inherited from Proto-Turkic *yügen (bridle); cognate with Azerbaijani yüyən, Bashkir йүгән (yügən), Chuvash йӗвен (jĕven), Kazakh жүген (jügen), Kyrgyz жүгөн (jügön), Turkmen uýan, Uyghur يۈگەن (yügen), Uzbek yugan and Yakut үүн (üün).
