A compound of ایپلك (iplik, “thread, yarn”) + خانه (hâne, “place”).

- spinning-mill, a factory that produces yarns and threads
- the government manufactory of rope and canvas at Istanbul
- prison or penitentiary in which prisoners where employed in spinning
