Ottoman Turkish[edit]

Etymology[edit]

There are two theories;

  1. From reciprocal form of Proto-Turkic *bar- (to walk, go; to come, reach), whence also Ottoman Turkish وارمق (varmak, to go).
  2. Related to Proto-Turkic *baŕ.

  1. to become mutually reconciled; to make peace
