Etymology[edit]

Probably from زَعِلَ (zaʕila, to prance, to leap up; to behave lively or agilely). Compare formally the reduplicated Arabic زُغْلُول (zuḡlūl, agile) from زَغَلَ (zaḡala, to pour forth with impetus).
