Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *doku- (to weave); cognate with Azerbaijani toxumaq, Crimean Tatar toqumaq, Kazakh тоқу (toqu), Kyrgyz токуу (tokuu), Tatar тукырга (tuqırga), Turkmen dokamak, Uyghur توقۇماق (toqumaq) and Uzbek toʻqimoq.
