Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Arabic كِبْرِيت (kibrīt, sulfur), from Aramaic כִּבְּרִיתָא (kiḇrīṯā), itself from Akkadian 𒆠𒀀𒀭𒀀𒇉 (kibrītu, sulfur, firebrand).

  1. (chemistry) sulfur, a chemical element with an atomic number of 16
    Synonym: كوكورت (kükürt)
