Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Turkic, whence Hungarian gyárt (to manufacture). The root is probably a derivation of Proto-Turkic *yara (be good enough, be sufficient, be successful), appended with the causative suffix -t.

Cognate with Turkish yaratmak, Uzbek yaratmoq, Kyrgyz жаратыл (jaratıl, to be created), Kazakh жарату (jaratu), Bashkir яратыу (yaratıw), Tatar яратучы (yaratuçı, creator).
