Inherited from Proto-Turkic *uya (nest); cognate with Azerbaijani yuva, Bashkir оя (oya), Chuvash йӑва (jăva), Kazakh ұя (ūä), Kyrgyz уя (uya), Tatar оя (oya), Uyghur ئۇۋا (uwa) and Uzbek uya.
