From Persian لازم (lâzem) or Arabic لَازِم (lāzim, “necessary, urgent, unavoidable”)

- (dialectal, slang) must, have to, should
- Synonym: ܓܵܪܲܓ (gārag)
- ܦܲܚܲܠܬܵܐ ܠܵܙܸܡ ܙܵܠܝܼ! ― paḥḥaltā lāzim zālī! ― Sorry I have to go!
- ܠܵܙܸܡ ܩܵܝܡܹܢ ܗ݇ܘܵܐ ― lāzim qāymēn wā ― I had to get up.
