Etymology[edit]
From Aramaic צוֹר (Ṣōr), from Phoenician 𐤑𐤓 (ṣr /Ṣur/, “rock”); compare Akkadian 𒋗𒊒 (Ṣurru), Arabic صُور (ṣūr) and Hebrew צוֹר (Tzor). Doublet of ܛܘܼܪܵܐ (ṭūrā, “mountain”).
