Semi-learned borrowing from Sanskrit अपाङ्ग (apāṅga). Doublet of अपांग (apāṅg). Compare Gujarati અપંગ (apaṅg), Marathi अपंग (apaṅga), Punjabi ਅਪੰਗ (apaṅg) / اَپَنگ (apang), Bengali অপাঙ্গ (opaṅgo), Maithili अपाङ्ग (apāṅga) / 𑒁𑒣𑒰𑒓𑓂𑒑 (apāṅga).
