Borrowed from Classical Persian بادشاه (bādšāh) (compare پادشاه (pâdešâh, pâdšâh)). Compare Gujarati બાદશાહ (bādśāh), Hindustani بَادْشَاہ (bādśāh) / बादशाह (bādśāh), Sindhi بادشاهُ / बादशाहु, Punjabi ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ (bādśāh) / بادْشاہ (bādśāh), Telugu పాదుషా (pāduṣā), Maithili बादसाह (bādᵊsāh) / 𑒥𑒰𑒠𑒮𑒰𑒯 (bādasāha), Bengali বাদশাহ (badośah).
