Etymology

Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘨𑘳𑘭𑘜𑘹 (rusaṇe), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀭𑀽𑀲𑀇 (rūsaï), from Sanskrit रुष्यति (ruṣyati). Cognate with Sindhi رُسَڻُ / रुसणु, Punjabi ਰੁੱਸਣਾ (russaṇā) / رُسّݨا (russṇā), Maithili रुसब (rusab) / 𑒩𑒳𑒮𑒥 (rusaba), Odia ରୁଷିବା (ruṣiba).
