Inherited from Sanskrit मध्य (madhya). Doublet of ਮੰਝਲਾ (mañjhlā), ਮਾਝ (mājh), ਮੰਝਾਰ (mañjhār), and ਮਾਝਾ (mājhā). Compare Pahari-Potwari ਮਾਂਝ (māñjh), Saraiki मंझ.
