Etymology[edit]
ถีบ (tìip, “to kick; to give a forceful shove with the foot”) + หัว (hǔua, “head”) + ส่ง (sòng, “to see off; to send off”); literally "to kick someone's head to send him off" or "to send someone's off by kicking his head".
