Etymology 1

From Sanskrit मुक्ताहार (muktāhāra, literally “garland of pearls”), from मुक्ता (muktā, “pear”) + हार (hāra, “garland”); equivalent to Thai มุกดา (múk-daa) +‎ หาร (hǎan).
