Etymology[edit]

From დოლ- (dol-) +‎ ი- (i-) +‎ ნგონ- (ngon-) +‎ -ამ (-am) +‎ -ს (-s). Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *gon- (to think, remember). Cognate with Georgian გონება (goneba) and Mingrelian მოგონუა (mogonua).
