Alternative forms[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From მ- (m-) + ა- (a-) + ნძინ- (nżin-) + -ენ (-en). Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *ʒen- : ʒin- (“to add, increase”).
Verb[edit]
მანძინენ • (manżinen) (Latin spelling manżinen) (Vitse–Arkabi, Khopa)
- to increase
- ფარა ვახარჯაში ჲადვენ დო მანძინენ
- para vaxarcaşi yadven do manżinen
- When you don't spend the money, it adds up
Usage notes[edit]
- This verb is pronounced everywhere as /mɑnd͡zinɛn/ However, in wiktionary, it is also written as მანზინენ (manzinen) for the Artasheni dialect. This is because in Artasheni dialect, the ძ (ż) consonant is a variant of the /z/ phoneme and is observed only after the /n/ phoneme.
