Etymology[edit]
Transliteration of Manchu ᡥᡠᠯᡠᠨ
ᠪᡠᡳᡵ (hulun buir), from Classical Mongolian ᠬᠥᠯᠦᠨ
ᠪᠤᠶᠢᠷ (kölün buyir). Named after 呼倫/呼伦 (Hūlún) and 貝爾/贝尔 (Bèi'ěr), the names of two lakes in that region.
