Sino-Korean word from 大臀筋, from 大 (“big; large”) + 臀 (“buttocks”) + 筋 (“muscle”)

- Phonetic hangul: [대(ː)둔근/데(ː)둔근]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
