Etymology

From -অত (-oto, “locative marker”) +‎ পৰা (pora). পৰা (pora, “beyond, further, subsequent”) is from Sanskrit পৰ (para, “distant, further, other”).

Suffix

-অত পৰে (-oto pore) (the vowel অ (o) is not present after vowels)

1. besides

   গুনি গান্থি মনে মঞিঁ বিমৰিসি চাই ।
   আত পৰে আন একো নেদেখো উপাই ॥

   guni ganthi mone moñi̐ bimorisi cai ,
   ato pore ano ekö nedekhö upai .

   Thinking carefully in my mind and disheartening,
   I don't see any other ways than this.
