Etymology[edit]
One of several signs with female referents that are made with the dominant hand located at the bottom half of the face. Compare OpenA@Jaw OpenA@Chin (“female”) and 5@Forehead-ThumbBack Contact (“father”).
Production[edit]
- This one-handed ASL sign is produced as follows:
- Posture the dominant hand in the “5” handshape at the chin, thumb of the dominant hand pointing back.
- Touch the thumb to the chin one or more times.
