*plakati?[edit]

Are the verbs plakati, plakat, płakać, плакать derived from Proto-Slavic? Maro 22:48, 3 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, плакать (plakatʹ) < Old Russian плакати (plakati) < Common Slavonic плакати (plakati) сѩ (plakati sjɛ̃), плачѫ (plačǫ) сѩ (plačɔ̃ sjɛ̃). —Stephen 08:46, 5 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Serbo-Croatian verbs[edit]

This contains so many errors that need to be fixed (especially Serbo-Croatian).I don't know where to start

WOW I'm shocked. What kind of Fakepedian edited this?None of these verbs have ANY meaning in Serbo-Croatian:

breći blesti bljusti cvasti gnjesti grepsti gresti klasti lesti mesti nesti tepsti žeći peti duti gnjiti riti kosnuti sahnuti bajati čajati crpati ufati

Wiktionary obviously needs more people who know Serbo-Croatian and other Slavic languages better unsigned comment added by Zabadu 14:08, 10 December 2012‎ (UTC)Reply

Ivan Štambuk did the Serbo-Croatian. He’s an educated native speaker of that language. You should discuss it with him. —Stephen (Talk) 14:36, 10 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Categorization criteria?[edit]

What criteria exactly are used for the categorization of this list? For example, *dojiti (causative i-declension) is listed among athematic verbs and some random a- or ě-declension instances such as *běgati or *volděti are given as simple thematic... Are these mistakes or it is implied that originally in Proto-Slavic their declension was (a)thematic? For example, the listed *čitati originally was simple thematic (more accurately reconstructed as *čisti), but later was reanalyzed as a-declension type.

PS *jьti is irregular, however, it's not athematic. Athematic means that the declension lacks thematic vowel before the person/number ending. Bezimenen (talk) 08:52, 14 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I don't agree. A list of verbs is different from a discussion of how verbs are conjugated. The two appendices serve different functions. —Mahāgaja · talk 14:02, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
