German[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From brennen (“to burn”) + Ball (“ball”), possibly because the players who are "out" are said to be verbrannt (“burnt”).
Noun[edit]
Brennball m (strong, genitive Brennballs or Brennballes, no plural)
- a children's game (also often played in physical education), similar to baseball except that the ball is thrown (not batted) and between the bases there may be obstacles to overcome
