@Panda10 Shouldn't we have a category "Hungarian verbs by prefix" or "Hungarian phrasal verbs" so that it can be rightfully placed in Category:Phrasal verbs by language? If so, which one? Adam78 (talk) 20:23, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Adam78 The current system is generated automatically. If you want something similar to English, the categories will have to be added manually to each verb. I checked a few English phrasal verbs, both categories are added manually at the end of the entry. See take back: Category:English phrasal verbs and Category:English phrasal verbs with particle (back) are at the end. I don't think Hungarian phrasal verbs would be a correct name. Phrasal verb is translated as elöljárós ige, while we are talking about verbs with verbal prefixes (igekötős ige). How about using the Appendix:Hungarian verbal prefixes for this? Adding the category link to each prefix? Perhaps in a table similar to the Hungarian suffixes appendix. So the connected elements are:
  1. The verbal prefix (e.g. abba-): It contains the category listing all verbs with this prefix. It also contains a link to Appendix:Hungarian verbal prefixes.
  2. The verb with a prefix (e.g. abbahagy): It contains a link to the verbal prefix in the etymology, a link to the category with all other verbs with abba-. We could add a link Appendix:Hungarian verbal prefixes if needed.
  3. The Appendix:Hungarian verbal prefixes: It contains all verbal prefixes with a possible addition of the corresponding categories.
What else is needed? With the above in place, I don't see the importance of a new "Hungarian verbs by prefix". Let me know if I failed to see something. Panda10 (talk) 17:17, 21 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
