  • (Noord-Brabant) First attested as den Cruijscampen in 1646. Compound of kruis (ecclesiastical, church-) and kamp (enclosed piece of land).
  • (Utrecht) First attested as cruijscamp in 1469. Compound of Middle Dutch cruce (cross) and camp (enclosed piece of land). The first element may indicate that the land formerly belonged to the church.
