Etymology[edit]

Coined by Alaska sled racing and dog expert Ivana Nolke from Euro- +‎ hound, to distinguish the European racing dogs being imported into Alaska.

  1. A type of dog bred for sled dog racing, a cross of the Alaskan husky and any of a number of pointers, most often the German Shorthair Pointer.
