Latin[edit]

Haec Færoarum prima et accurata delineatio facta Lucâ Debes anno 1673.

Pronunciation[edit]

Etymology 1[edit]

Probably an adaptation of Danish Færø. The -ae termination reflects the feminine gender of Old Norse Færeyjar and its descendants (common gender in Danish and Swedish owing to their loss of the masculine–feminine distinction).
