      Felis daemon is indistinguishable in skull features from the domestic cat, forming only a black form of it.

      Satunin described Felis daemon as a separate black species. The typical specimen originated from Elizavetpol gubernia. He tried to decide whether this species is actually separate or only a melanistic form of the wild cat.
