Etymology[edit]
First attested as in den nederen-eynde van jutfaes in 1381-1383. Compound of the toponym Nedereind (derived from Middle Dutch neder (“low, lower”) and ende (“end”)) and wech (“way, road”). Named after a road running through the Nedereind polder.
