- (Hollands Kroon) Attested as Noord Geest in 1839-1859. Compound of noord (“north-, northern”) and buurt (“hamlet, small settlement”). The element buurt replaced original geest (“elevated sandy land”).
- (Texel) Attested as Noorderbuurt in 1839-1859. Compound of noorder (“northern”) and buurt (“hamlet, small settlement”).
