New Latin, from Ancient Greek πήρα (pḗra, “pouch”) + καρίς (karís, “shrimp”).

- A taxonomic superorder within the subclass Eumalacostraca – many crustaceans that have the first thoracic segment united with the head, the cephalothorax usually larger than the abdomen, and some thoracic segments free from the carapace.
