- (Gelderland) Attested as De Plantage in 1899. Named after a house, the name of which in turn derives from plantage (“plantation”).
- (Noord-Holland) Derived from plantage (“plantation”). The area was formerly occupied by various gardens.
- (Zuid-Holland) Derived from plantage (“plantation”).
