Etymology[edit]

Nishanyan and Clauson suggest that it is a doublet of *-ak. Compare with Sogdian -𐼷𐼸 (-yk, diminutive suffix).

    Synonyms: *-čük, *-čak, *-č, *-ak
    *kāp (sack, cup) + ‎*-ik → ‎*kāpïk (shell)
